08/20/2021 (part 2 ) Lesley's Ka'ena Report from Thursday 08/19

Due to several meetings, we had a late start to go monitor the park.

I hiker came to tell me that "N30" had hauled out on a beach while she and others were in the water. She told me she asked everybody to please back off and give him space. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the beach 20 Mns later he wasn't there. Perhaps he didn't enjoy people getting too close. Later we did see photos of him on Social Media.
We only saw and documented 3 seals 
RO40 Ka'ena on a small beach in a tide pool
RW02 PVKauai in a tide pool in the same spot we saw him the day before
RH76 Kala was also in the same spot we saw her the day before, her molt is still at the beginning so I'd say in the 5%
