4/26/2021 Monday (part 2) The Birth of P02

Melody headed over to Waikiki about 2 this afternoon and saw Kaiwi RK96 was hanging out near the wall. She was a bit restless and about 3:30 she noticed Kaiwi was breathing heavily and some movement in her belly.  Melody suspected she might be in labor. Just a few minutes later a gentleman on the beach said he could see something emerging from Kaiwi's hind flipper area. The pup P02 according to the time stamp on her photos was born at 3:42 pm.  There were a lot of people who got the experience of a lifetime today.  I am sure for Melody to be able to capture this birth as well as experience this will be a life long memory.   Melody noted how sweet and tender Kaiwi was with the pup. There is a huge zone that has been set up to keep people away. I have a feeling there are a lot of aunties and uncles on board for this pup.
