1/14/2018 Monk Seal Dailies (part 2) Lesley's Ka'ena Point Update

Gail, a friend and I left very later this afternoon to do the Ka'ena Point hike and monitoring.
We walked out enjoying some whale watching and the big swell waves. Arriving in the NARS area it was wonderful to watch the albatrosses. There was so much going on.
I included a photo of Ka'ena's Pool there was so much foam in it and the other pools were barely visible
At the point we found 2 seals. On Back Beach RN14 "Molokai" and on Main Beach R330 "Squinty". Watched the sunset and did some outreach with visitors.
I was completely dark by the time we made it to the boulders.

 Squinty R330
 RN14 Molokai
