Team Billand found two critters today same location but not together. First they came across Kekoa Alii (RK72) alone, sleeping high in the rocks. He woke up, looked around and realized Lei Ola was gone. He kept looking towards the water and sure enough when they checked back on him he was gone. Their next find was Ka'ale (RH32) at Maili was way up in the rocks alone and sleeping soundly. On their afternoon check he was still alone in the same spot.
Team Billand met two local ladies and spent time talking story. They noticed a big stick with a hook and line. One of the ladies was kind enough to retrieve the stick, tossed it up to them and came back up with a floater that was stuck on the rocks earlier. She broke off the hook from the lead from the stick and took it away from the area so no seal would get hurt. GREAT DAY in the neighborhood, it's how community works! Team Billand did search several other beaches and came up empty.
Posse Pal Gayle reported that unfortunately Right Spot (R016) is still lounging in the middle of Sandys. When Gayle found her this morning two HPD officiers, a volunteer and a handful of onlookers were there. She was hoping Right Spot would move back to the east end but no such luck. The good news is that she is about 95% molted! On Rabbit Island there were three critters all on the left side. Gayle did not find any other critters today but did say most places were flooded with high surf.
