The morning began with a report made by Marilyn at 0548 of Kaiwi (RK96) and a new pup around the Alan Davis Beach area. It is believed Kaiwi pupped some time overnight. This is Kaiwi's very first pup.At 0757 Sector Manager Don checked in reporting Honey Girl (R5AY) at Malaekahana. She is continuing her molt.
At 1311 a report was made of a seal at Diamond Head but an ID could not be made.
Another seal was reported at Paradise Cove at 1320. The seal tried hauling out twice but eventually departed. An ID could not be made.
At 1414 a call came in with a report of Benny (RE74) at Lanikohonua. The ID was made by tags (E76/E77). Nancy responded and reported Benny's departure at 1428.At 1424 Jennette reported a seal at the Mokuleia (pup site) with R912 and pup. The seal approached the mom and pup but was chased away. The seal was eventually ID'ed as RW02. No further interaction was reported.
Karen checked in via email after her shift at the Mokuleia pup site and sent a few photos to share.
