9/8/2014 Rocky at Kaimanas - photos courtesy of Jason O'rourke
Based on these Jason shots, as well as an additional shot I received from Brandi Apana, I believe this to be Benny (RE74). I'm guessing this is the "2nd seal".
Well, DB... the only wrinkle here is that this is the "first seal" in the pictures. The face shots were of what we thought was Rocky when we arrived. The only photo I managed to get of the second seal (several blurry attempts in the low light) was the belly shot, which looked inconclusive. I had the impression of a male seal in the view I got of the belly before I was able to get a photograph, but I certainly could have been wrong on that too.
So maybe Benny was sleeping in the sand by the life guard stand and Rocky was the "second seal" over by the palm trees?
I was there when the first seal hauled out at Kaimanas on Monday, and the pictures I have look like there is definitely some male anatomy... but I am no expert (I just use the great photos you guys post to compare).
