4-20-2012 HMSRTO attends Punahou Sustainability Fair

Today HMSRTO volunteers Colleen H, Larry S, Liz W, and Lesley M, spent the day reaching out to the students at Punahou. This is HMSRTO's 3rd year attending the fair and the kids still love hearing about the seals.  Good job everyone!

    I was wondering if your group of Volunteers ever go to the Leeward schools, like Makaha Elementary, Maili Elementary, Waianae El??? Seems the leeward schools need some education on dealing with a seal haul out. When we go to these sites on the leeward end, not many know of the seals. If you all can reach these fine kids, it would be awesome. We used to go to schools but we are too busy for that now. Please try to reach these kids...Today while at Makaha Beach, the boys werent listening and kept entering the zones with Benny. What ever education you can give them it will be so appreciated. These schools dont got much, many kids come from broken homes, abused homes...all need attention on MONK SEAL 101. god bless...B
