1-24-11 Auntie Leslie makes the Ka'ena Point Trek

It's 9:00PM I just arrived from my NorthShore Monday adventure - stopped at Chollos Cholos for a bite.  Did an afternoon hike to Kaena Pt. Saw lots of albatrozes albatrosses but still no chicks, whales blowing, tail slapping, some breaches (but far out).

Out at the point to my suprise 2 seals !!
Both males - one tagged on both flippers the other no tags. They were no scars or "marks" to help identify them so DB will have fun with the pics to sort that out.
Both were together on some rocks in one of the pools. One (a) was on the lower part with the tagged flippers in the water 99% of the time, the other (b) with a pretty shinny coat and NO tags.

Never get tired of looking at these little critters (okay not so little)

As for who's who, will have to wait for DB' input.

  3. Good Morning ! Ya' Done Good, Lesley !! Finding critters at the end of the world has been a very difficult task of late, so your finds are especially welcomed. I'm happy to report that you spent your day, as I suspected, with Kerby and CeeCee. Kerby has the broken tag. It was his W09 tag, now reduced to a "v" . He is the guy lying on his side, partially submerged. CeeCee is the other guy, with the natural bleach on the forehead, and no tags. DB
