We are always so happy to hear about a new pup.... And 5AY has given us many beautiful pups over the years. She is a good Momma and is pretty predictable when she is pregnant on Oahu as to where she'll have her pup. BUT today's big news and excitement is two of our very dedicated loyal volunteers were able to witness the birth. Both Diane and Karen spent the last couple of days watching her and today their efforts paid off. Personally I am thrilled for them.... it is extremely rare to actually witness this (although it may become more common as the population grows here on the main islands). So congratulations to 5AY for her new pup and congratulations to Karen and Diane for such a special event.!!!!

Diane, I was wondering how the behavior was of R5AY when you spotted her.Was she like moaning, mouthing, restless? Did she just shoot that pup out? Or was it a smooth birth? I never seen one and am really interested how it looks. And did the pup move right away?
